Purpose of this Document
This California Candidate Privacy Policy (the "Policy") for IEC Corporation d/b/a International Education Corporation ("Employer"), describes Employer’s processing of Personal Information from applicants, employees, and contractors.
This Policy supplements any other privacy notices and is not intended to override them. This includes but is not limited any provisions in the Employee Handbook. For the purposes of this Policy, "Personal Information" means any information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, to any individual or a household.
Personal Information We Collect
Employer collects Personal Information about you during the application process and throughout the scope of your employment with Employer. The categories of Personal Information collected may include the following:
- Identifiers (Name, Address, SSN, etc.)
- Protected Classification Characteristics
- Family Information (Emergency Contacts)
- Job Information & History
- Education & Training background
- Internet & Network activity
- Audio and visual information
- Performance & Disciplinary info
- Health Information (as required by law)
Sensitive Personal Information
We collect Personal Information defined as "Sensitive Personal Information" under California law, including government IDs, social security numbers, race or ethnic origin, and health information.
Data Retention
Personal Information is retained for as long as is reasonably necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected and to comply with applicable laws and regulations. We consider criteria such as the nature and sensitivity of the information and our legal obligations.
How We Collect Your Information
Direct Collection
Information you voluntarily provide as an applicant or during the scope of your employment.
System Collection
Data collected when you use our computer systems, time keeping, and online platforms.
Third Parties
Information from recruiting platforms (Paycom), background check providers, and insurance/benefit partners.
How We Use Your Information
Employer uses Personal Information for all purposes related to the application for employment, ongoing business operations, and the administration of life-cycle employment relationships. Key uses include:
